Publisher’s Note
The March 1, 2008, Comments and Controversies article by Persad, Little, and Grady entitled, “Including Persons With HIV Infection in Cancer Clinical Trials” (J Clin Oncol 26:1027–1032, 2008) was published online February 28, 2008 with an error. In the Exclusion Revisited section, the second to last sentence of the last paragraph was given as:
“Pre-emptory exclusion of women and minorities, for example, may have been less complex and less costly, but excluding these groups failed both at fairly distributing the direct benefits of research and at producing generalizable scientific results.”
While it should have read:
“Peremptory exclusion of women and minorities, for example, may have been less complex and less costly, but excluding these groups failed both at fairly distributing the direct benefits of research and at producing generalizable scientific results.”
This has been corrected as of April 11, 2008.
