Publisher's Note

The January 20, 2007 article by Griggs et al entitled, "Effect of Patient Socioeconomic Status and Body Mass Index on the Quality of Breast Cancer Adjuvant Chemotherapy" (J Clin Oncol 25:277-284, 2007) was published online December 11, 2006 with errors.

In Tables 1 and 2, under BMI, the range of body mass index was incorrectly given in the Overweight and Obese row headings, and should have read, "Overweight (>= 25 to < 30)" and "Obese (>= 30 to < 35)."

In Table 2, the title was given as, "Initial Chemotherapy Dose Reductions < 85% of Standard Bivariate Analysis (N = 764)," but should have read, "Initial Chemotherapy Dose Reductions < 85% of Standard Univariate Analysis (N = 764)."

In the Results section, under Univariate Analysis, the first sentence gave the P value for BMI as .003, whereas it should have been P=.0003, as follows:

"Region (P < .0001), BMI category (P = .0003), patient education (P = .002), and area-level education (P = .014) were associated with the use of reduced initial doses of chemotherapy (Table 2 and Fig 1)."

Also in the Results section, under Multivariate Analysis, the third sentence was given as:

"Factors that were independently associated with use of first cycle dose reduction were obesity (P = .01), severe obesity (P = .01), patient education less than high school (P = .001), and geographic region (P < .0001)."

While it should have read:

"Factors that were independently associated with use of first cycle dose reduction were obesity (P = .003), severe obesity (P = .007), patient education less than high school (P = .001), and geographic region (P < .0001)."

In Table 3, under the Dose Ratio heading, the right-hand column was given as < .8, but should have been < .85.

Also in Table 3, the row heading "% college graduates" should have been indented and included as part of the Zip code heading above.
